Have you ever wondered what the main dish tastes like from Disney/Pixar feature film, Ratatouille?
We will tell you about two ways where you can find out firsthand!
1. Visit Bistrot Chez Rémy at Disneyland Paris
We had the opportunity to dine at this heavily themed, magical restaurant, Bistrot Chez Rémy, while we were visiting Disneyland Paris. When we arrived the hostess treated us with a little Disney magic as she guided us around the corner to our seats and the entire restaurant transformed before our eyes. We were instantly"shrunken down" to rat size and found ourselves awestruck by the new world we were immersed in. All around us were over-sized items you see everyday rendered beautifully to life-size like we were walking right into the movie. Above our heads coaster tables were lit by giant stringed lights and massive candles on rustic spoons. People sat under toothpick umbrellas and on chairs made out of bottle caps. The waiters held wine bottles and raced beneath a flowered ceiling as we gazed at huge variety of different settings in the restaurant. There is so much to see and discover, no matter where you get sat, make sure you go explore a bit before you leave—we promise, you will not be disappointed!
But here is the real reason why we're here—try the ratatouille! Ratatouille is simply "a vegetable dish consisting of onions, zucchini, tomatoes, eggplant, and peppers, fried and stewed in oil." David and I both ordered the grilled steak which comes with a small side of ratatouille and french fries. That way, if you aren't the biggest fan of ratatouille, then you still have a delicious steak and fries! And it is delicious!
Overall, if you get the chance to try ratatouille here, we would highly recommend it!
2. Make ratatouille at home on your own!
We found a Disney-inspired ratatouille recipe here!
We have not tried to make it on our own yet, but if you can't make it to Paris anytime soon, create your own themed night and try out this Disney-inspired recipe at home! Delight in your chef skills and watch the movie while you eat! The recipe looks pretty simple but we're sure it takes some chef mastery like Rémy, to create such a beautiful presentation like the one in the movie. Send us your photos if you try it!
